Sharing Your Photos, Videos And More...
While the members of your myfamily.com site can see the photos, videos and Photo Stories that you've uploaded, did you know that you can also share these things with people who don't belong to your site? The sharing and embedding features on myfamily.com allow you to share what you want with any of your friends and family members on the web, while still keeping your site private, safe and secure.
Sharing With Others:
Let's say you want to share some of your photos with a friend who's not a member of your site. Instead of sending them a bunch of emails with large files attached, simply upload the photos into a myfamily.com album. From there, click on the 'Share This Album' link and enter your friend's email address into the module that appears. You can even include your own personalized message. Then, click on the 'Send' button and we'll immediately send them an email containing a link that takes them to a page on myfamily.com that displays the album you shared. They won't be able to see anything else on your site. This feature also works with single photos, videos and Photo Stories.

Embedding Your Stuff Around The Web:
Just because your photos are on myfamily.com site doesn't mean they have to stay there. Any photo, video or Photo Story can be placed elsewhere on the web, like a blog or personal web site, using the embed feature. Find the item you want to place somewhere else on the web and click on the 'Embed This...' link. Then copy the code that appears and paste it wherever you want your myfamily.com photo, video or Photo Story to appear.
Embedding Other Stuff On Your Site:
Of course, sharing isn't a one-way street. While it's great to be able to show your myfamily.com content to others, it's also important to share photos and videos that exist outside of myfamily.com with the members of your site. You can place any photo or image on the web into a comment or discussion on myfamily.com. Just copy the URL, click on 'Insert/Edit Image' and then paste the URL into the box that appears. You can also do this with Google and YouTube videos by following the instructions in our Help Center.

How Do You Use myfamily.com?

"When I moved to Kuwait in 1999, I started my site. It was a fantastic way to share my adventures and travels with my family and friends. Now, I am in my 9th year overseas. My life has changed a lot since I first started the site. I met my wife, had a baby, and have been living in China for 6 years. Through all of this, I've used myfamily.com to share my overseas life with my family and friends back in the States. It's also doubled as a sort of video journal of my travels. Thanks!"
