How do I delete a tree?

Currently, "deleting" a tree from a site means simply removing access to the tree from that given myfamily.com site. The tree itself continues to exist on ancestry.com--and will until the owner goes to Ancestry.com directly and deletes the tree.

To delete a tree from your myfamily.com site:

1. Click on the 'Trees' tab to view a list of trees on the site.

2. Click on the 'Delete' link.

3. All of the trees that you have permission to delete will have a checkbox on their left. Select the trees you want to delete and click on the 'Continue' button.

4. A confirmation message will appear, verifying that you'd really like to delete the tree(s). If so, click on the 'Delete' button to delete the trees from your myfamily.com site.

To delete a tree from ancestry.com:

1. Click on the 'Trees' tab to view a list of trees on the site.

2. Click on the tree you'd like to delete to access it in ancestry.com.

3. You'll find yourself on the tree's "Home" page. There is a section called Tools on the right side of this page. Click on the 'Manage my tree' link found in this section.

4. Click on the 'delete tree' link. A confirmation message will appear, verifying that you'd really like to delete the tree. If so, click on the 'OK' button.
