Myfamily Connections
Better Than Email

Valentine's Day is the perfect time of year to share your life with the people you care about, and myfamily.com is the easiest place to do it. Faster and more convenient than using email, your myfamily.com sites give you all you need to share with anyone online.

Sharing Photos & Albums:
When you add a photo or album to your myfamily.com site, all members of that site can view it instantly and comment on it. This is a great alternative to sending the photo to everyone in an email because some photos can be too large to send through email or can take a very long time to upload and download.

Sharing Videos & SnapGenies:
Like photos and albums, videos and SnapGenies can also be shared on your myfamily.com site for all site members to enjoy and comment on. Most video files are too big to send over email, so uploading them to your myfamily.com site is the perfect way to let everyone view them.

Sharing News & Events:
When you have important news you want to share with your family, simply post it to your myfamily.com site. Rather than worrying about tracking down everyone's email address, adding news directly to your site ensures that everyone will be able to read and comment on it. For an even more personal touch, try using the Voice News feature, which allows you to tell the news in your own voice. Also, the Events section of myfamily.com is great for planning and coordinating family events, but it's also a good place to put your own personal events so that family members know what you're up to.

Creating a Public Share:
Your myfamily.com site also includes a 'sharing' feature that allows you to share the things on your site with anyone, regardless of whether or not they belong to the site. When you decide to share something like a photo or video, all you need to do is go to the item and click on the 'share' icon. From there, just enter the email addresses of the people you want to share with and an email is automatically sent to them. This email will contain a link that takes them directly to what you shared. Remember, the people you share with do not need to belong to your myfamily.com site. They don't even need to have a myfamily.com account at all.

How Do You Use myfamily.com?

"I first heard about myfamily.com while taking classes for my master's degree in technology in education. I started my own family site, then told a Spanish teacher at my work (Cashmere High School) about how great it was. I mentioned I thought it would be great way for a class to share with each other and their families. She took the idea and ran with it. We started a site for the advanced Spanish students. They call in and speak in Spanish, post their original art, photos, etc. The students LOVE it and so does the teacher. I think it's a great tool for education. Thank you so much, your site ROCKS!"

Featured Recipe - Cranberry Nut Bars
submitted by:

Ingredients:
2 eggs
1 Cup granulated white sugar
1 Cup flour
1/3 Cup melted butter
1 & 1/4 Cups fresh or frozen whole cranberries
1/2 Cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8-inch square glass baking pan. Beat eggs on low in a medium mixing bowl until thick. Gradually add sugar (I pour a slow steady stream) into the eggs, beating well until thoroughly blended. Mixture will be thick and creamy. Stir in flour and melted butter alternately, beating until blended. Do not over-mix or your batter will be tough. Add cranberries and chopped walnuts, folding into the mixture carefully as to not break or mash the berries. Spread evenly in baking pan. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until light golden brown on top and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool and cut into bars.
